Rachel Royston Scholarship
Rachel Royston was a teacher, counselor, and administrator in the Seattle Public School District. She believed that through scholarships, friendships and careful mentoring, capable and ambitious women could realize their full potential. The Rachel Royston Permanent Scholarship Foundation is affiliated with the Alpha Sigma State (Washington) Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, an international organization of key women educators.
The scholarship period for 2022/2023 is now open. In recent years, most awards to individuals have been in the range of $5,000- $8,000 total. Awards may be smaller or larger depending on a variety of factors including the performance of our portfolio.
Female bona fide residents of Washington state who are currently (or will be) enrolled in a nationally or regionally accredited college or university graduate degree or certification program in the field of education are encouraged to apply. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree and be certified to teach in Washington State. Being a Delta Kappa Gamma member is not required to apply for this scholarship.
