WEA recommends the following candidates:
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
US SENATE
WEA supports the following measures:
- I-1098: Institutes a high-earners income tax dedicated to schools and health care; cuts property and B&O taxes
- R-52: Authorizes the sale of $500 million in bonds to retrofit schools and colleges, using bottled water tax
WEA opposes the following initiatives:
- I-1053: Requires a 2/3 vote of legislature or a vote of the people to raise taxes (Tim Eyman’s latest initiative)
- I-1082: Privatizes worker’s comp
- I-1100: Privatizes state liquor sales; repeals taxes and mark-up ($300 million revenue loss)
- I-1105: Privatizes state liquor sales; repeals all hard liquor taxes ($300 million revenue loss)
- I-1107: Repeals some tax increases passed during the 2010 session: candy, gum, soda, bottled water and Spam ($100 million revenue loss)
