Your Association can make great strides within your school district to improve your working conditions, which will in turn improve the learning conditions of the students, as well.

As a member, you can help shape the policy and direction of the representative body for your Association.Opportunities abound whether you choose to become a building rep, serve on a committee, run for an executive board position, join the bargaining team or even assist and support those who hold those titles.NEA, WEA, UniServ, and local associations are member driven.Your participation and influence will help move forward the common goals of you and your colleagues. The more involved you become, the greater the opportunity to shape your profession.

Another way to be involved is to participate in one of the professional development opportunities available, such as attending Bargaining Seminars, Educational Leader Forums, or other trainings. All of these rich learning events not only provide you personal learning opportunity and possibly clock hours, but a valuable networking opportunity as well.
